Les Gets Ski Resort Review

Les Gets is part of the popular Chavannes Bowl which also includes the quieter Mont-Cheri. This ski resort is divided into these two main sectors.

The Chavannes Bowl is full of blues, reds and a few blacks and also includes a number of high capacity lifts. The micro-area of La Turche is a great asset – including tree lined runs which are a delight on a powder day. From here access is also available to Chamossiere, Nyon, Morzine and more.

Mont-Cheri is a quieter and arguably more challenging. The Mont Cheri bubble lifts you above south facing slopes which are sometimes skiable, onto Mont Cheri itself. The southern slopes are excellent wide open reds and blues, where the ski club often race and train and they also have a decent snow park. The older eastern lift takes you back to the summit which a choice from a straightforward red or a bumpy, narrow, steep and challenging black. On the north face you also have an excellent red and a great wide, bumpy black pitch leading to the Col d’Ancrenaz. Out of high season and in good snow Mont Cheri can be an unpisted playground.

Les Gets benefits from some high-capacity lift system out of the village and onto the slopes from all different locations. This helps avoid queuing even in high season. The Chavanne bowl has been updated with a range of 4 and 6 person high-speed chairs that enable great access to this intermediate area.

The restaurants on the mountain on the whole are of a decent standard and pretty good value with La Rossetaz at the top of the Rosta chair. The area is fairly compact making easy access to the village, giving greater variety for lunch.

With a village the size of Les Gets, as you would expect there is a good amount of all types of accommodation. There are around 30 hotels of different standards, including the Marmotte Hotel which has now been awarded a well deserved 4 star and is perfectly situated at the foot of the ski slopes.
