Megeve Ski Resort Review
Megeve is found in the Haute Savoie area in France. The resort is laid-back, stylish and also a lavish resort attracting celebrities and high earners. Megeve is stunning, with snow capped roof tops sheltering romantic streets filled with gourmet restaurants and has the novelty of horse-drawn sleighs whisking people back to their luxury chalet or villa. The resort is not only popular in winter; summers here offer plenty of variety.
The surrounding Alpine areas and forested slopes are popular during the winter. Megeve skiing holidays are fantastic for people who enjoy the thrill off-piste skiing, and there are plenty of testing pistes. Megeve however has over 75% of pistes which are allocated for beginners and intermediates making it not ideal for experts. If, however you are looking for a luxury chalet in Megeve for your first skiing holiday, this I’m sure would be a resort you would be happy to return to for many years to come! The resort suits Snowboarders too, as there are two snow parks and a half pipe to enjoy and for those who enjoy a different way of skiing you can tackle 75kms of cross country skiing trails.

If skiing is not your thing, but you find yourself in Megeve, there is a huge amount of options to entertain you. Visitors here can swim in an indoor pool, go ice-skate, go bowling, play tennis, go para-gliding or take a ride in a hot air balloon. They also have climbing walls, charter flights over Mont Blanc and a beauty spa to enjoy. Evenings in Megeve are great. With a range of bars, restaurants, clubs and folklore nights, they also have their own casino, so with all the entertainment on offer you shouldn’t have any trouble finding something to do after a hard days skiing. |
In the summer, Megeve somehow manages to become even more beautiful. Window boxes on chalets explode with colour as flowers bloom and the view of Mont Blanc’s amazing white contrast to the green of the vally towers over you. Lake Combloux is one of the focal points of Megeve in summer, as there is a small, artificial beach on its banks. The huge chutes of the outdoor pools are a huge attraction for family’s, and the mountains offer endless opportunities for activity. The beautiful peaks which lie in the shadow of Mont Blanc are ideal for walking, mountain biking and riding holidays, whilst the mountain streams gush with melt water and the occasional white water raft, filled with delighted visitors. A summer villa in Megeve also allows you to go fishing (both lake and river), play golf or take a scenic flight over the Alps, in either a plane or hot air balloon.
